About us
Our story isn’t that complicated really. We are a family of riders, engineers, parents, grand parents and kids. Having fun, riding bikes and designing all number of things have taken place for years. Stance components is a fresh young business based in South Devon, surrounded by an amazing coast line and moorland, where we are able to design, manufacture and test our aftermarket cycling products. Thats right it all happens right here. Well there is also the cheeky testing trips abroad to far flung mountains, trails or BMX races thrown in for good measure. Quality and performance are key to the components we want to produce. We have chosen to design and manufacture components the way we would like them to look and perform using the best materials for the job. Progression and development will continue to allow our product range to grow. There are many new products to be released, all with our unique design and quality
DESIGNED & MANUFACTURED IN THE UK
All our components are designed & manufactured right here in the UK out of our base in South Devon.
The process to produce a new component is a lengthy process. Having full control over all aspects of the process allows us to refine changes much more efficiently with out the headaches of outsourcing to external companies or abroad.
Whats involved?
Designing - Using Advanced 3D CAM software to produce 3d models of new components
Prototyping - 3D additive manufacturing allows us to quickly produce the 1st physical hands-on prototype allowing us to check fitments, sizing and overall looks.
Manufacturing - Our components are made on advanced high accuracy CNC machines. We also love to be able to keep our skill up and love to use the manual machines when certain aspects of a new component need it. Turning handles and watching chips fly has the same feeling as flowing through the trails for us.
Testing
We are riders ourselves, and have a great bunch of athletes we are involved with who all share the love for the development of our products. Once we are happy our components are ready for real world testing, the calls are put out, bikes and riders flock to our secret underground bat cave (Well maybe not a secret underground bat cave!) , and parts fitted.
Here in Devon we are lucky to have some awesome natural terrain, close by bike parks, a number of BMX tracks and simply some decent city and road riding. The variety is endless so you know our components have been tested in the environments they are intended for.
